Chappaqua has become famous, thanks to the Clintons relocating there, serving as a location for high-profit movies such as “Falling in Love” and being the place that is desirable to live in. While Chappaqua has become a town on everyone’s radar, the community hasd been able to maintain its small town charm with historic roots, offering lots to do and high standards.
Commuting Options: The trip on Metro-North’s Harlem Line from Chappaqua to Grand Central Terminal ranges from about 50 to 60 minutes. There’s ample permit, metered and day parking near the station. Chappaqua is located right off the Saw Mill River Parkway, with easy access to drive to White Plains, Manhattan and Connecticut.
History: Chappaqua was settled in the early 1730s by the Quakers. Fast forward several hundred years later, today’s Chappaqua is pretty busy during the day; most shops are closed for the day by 7pm, giving it that quiet suburban feel.
What to do: Many Chappaqua residents, as well as residents from neighboring towns, will bring their kids to play at Gedney Park, shop the weekly Farmer’s Market, go to the library, visit in some of the larger community events like the Chappaqua Children’s Fair, shop the quaint downtown, or eat at a variety of restaurants, a Starbucks, enjoy the gazebo where summer concerts are held and stroll the ball fields for a quick game.
