Bedford – Life in the Country That’s Close To The City

bedford street

Bedford offers the feeling of “life in the country” with nearby access to shopping, restaurants and recreation. The tree-lined streets, quiet residential roads, award winning schools and ample history make it one of the most desirable locations in Northern Westchester to live.  The town consists of three hamlets: Bedford Hills, Bedford Village and Katonah. Each town has a distinct personality and have their own town park with ample amenities including pools, tennis courts and playgrounds.  Westchester County’s largest park, “Ward Pound Ridge” calls Bedford its home and offers hiking, camping and equestrian trails. Bedford’s Village Green is on the National Register of Historic Places. Don’t miss “The Bedford Oak”, the town’s famous and humongous Oak Tree, estimated to be 500 years old.

Two of my listings provide access to all that Bedford offers. They are located in an adjacent town. Really it’s the best of both worlds!  Living here, you would get to experience the best of Bedford has plus the community amenities and vibrant restaurant scene of nearby Armonk. Bedford is one of the most highly regarded towns in America and down for its classic landscape, picturesque estates and its New England feel.

My first listing, 35 Smith Farm Road truly reflects the essence of Bedford. It’s a stately brick manor estate on almost 4 acres of rolling, cleared beautiful land. Located in the town of North Castle and having a Bedford address for postal route, this house is in the heart of the award winning Byram Hills School District. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac street but near to Armonk, White Plains and on a direct route to downtown Greenwich. My second listing, 39 Hickory Kingdom, I listed for sale and for rent. Located in the community of Armonk, with a Bedford postal route, just minutes behind Windmill Farm. Stone Pillars lead you to this stone and shingle Colonial constructed by a respected, local builder. The interior has been updated with a modern, hip design. The two story entry boasts a rear glass wall and doors that offer natural light and property views. Also in the Byram Hills School District. Click here for more information on this true jem.

Whether you’re visiting or looking to call home, it’s truly a town you must see! The town of Bedford is less than an hour to Manhattan and other suburban hubs such as Armonk, Greenwich and White Plains are a hop skip and a jump.
