If you’re thinking about looking for a home in Chappaqua and Northern Westchester in 2018, Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival is a great opportunity to see the community in action. This annual event, scheduled for October 14th from 10-4 at the Bell Middle School, is a well-attended a daylong festival designed to inspire children of all ages to become lifelong readers. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
Though the main focus of this annual, fall expo is to encourage literacy in children, families will find more than just books. The additional activities, ranging from live music performances and entertainment to regional food vendors, ensure that both young and old will find something to enjoy.
During the festival parents and children can meet and have books signed by their favorite authors and illustrators. The festival — the only one of its kind in Westchester County — draws big crowds and big names in the world of children’s literature. Among the authors participating this year are Victoria Kann “Pinkalicious”; “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” illustrator Ronn Barrett; “Max and Ruby” author/illustrator Rosemary Wells; and series authors Dan Greenburgh, “Zack Files” and Nick Bruel “Bad Kitty”.
Wee Westchester just posted a great blog about the festival as well. Click here to read.
