One of the great (and many) things about living in Northern Westchester, is what the towns offer to their communities. A standout event, that continues to amaze and inspire year after year, is the Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival, a daylong festival designed to inspire children of all ages to become lifelong readers. I promise, you won’t be disappointed. This free Festival will be held tomorrow, September 24th, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Bell Middle School.
Though the main focus of this annual, fall expo is to encourage literacy in children, families will find more than just books. The additional activities, ranging from live music performances and entertainment to regional food vendors, ensure that both young and old will find something to enjoy.
During the festival parents and children can meet and have books signed by their favorite authors and illustrators. The festival — the only one of its kind in Westchester County — draws big crowds and big names in the world of children’s literature. Among the authors participating this year are Victoria Kann “Pinkalicious”; “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” illustrator Ronn Barrett; “Max and Ruby” author/illustrator Rosemary Wells; and series authors Dan Greenburgh, “Zack Files” and Nick Bruel “Bad Kitty”.
