A Taste of Westchester – DeCicco & Sons Tues, 8/9: 5:30-7:30pm: It’s a cooking class and a meal. At this Westchester Community College of Continuing Education’s class, you will step into DeCicco’s video enhanced demonstration kitchen to help Chef Angelo prepare a chilled summer soup made with tomatoes, watermelon and a buttermilk broth, and cornmeal fried catfish with roasted red peppers, oyster mushrooms and an asparagus pesto. Twelfth Night at Westmoreland Sanctuary Fri, 8/12: 6pm: This year’s production will be Shakespeare’s RomCom of gender confusion, Twelfth Night, set in San Francisco circa 1967 – complete with all sorts of hippies, freaks and rock ‘n’ roll. Bring a blanket or “lawn chair” to this picnic friendly event. This is LCT’s 9th season and their first in Chappaqua. www.lawnchairtheatre.org
Retro Revival – Jacob Burns Thurs, 8/18: 7:30pm : This ongoing series of classic films continues through the summer with: I Knew Her Well: A perfect piece of ’60s Italian cinema, with beautiful locations, beautiful people, and great Italian pop music. This 1965 film from Antonio Pietrangeli, about a country girl who gets caught up in the temptations of life in Rome, is presented in 4K digital restoration. The Muppets – Jacob Burns: Sat-Sun, 8/20-21: 12pm Walter (Peter Linz), the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel, The End of the Tour) and Mary (Amy Adams, Enchanted) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper, Adaptation) to demolish the Muppet Theater and drill for oil.
