We are in the midst of the spring real estate market for 2009 and I can assure you that Armonk and surrounding communities will survive the this economic crisis . Armonk real estate is still a great investment. Although we know that both the number of houses sold and prices are down, I am encouraged by the recent sale prices of properties that went in to contract beginning October 2008 and recently closed.
What seems to be emerging as the biggest trend is that houses that are renovated with new kitchens and baths, decorated well and priced to this market are the properties that are selling.
With the vast inventory all over Westchester, buyers don’t want to do work to fix up a home and they don’t have to! With homes for sale facing the fiercest competition they have seen in many years, homes going on the market need to look pristine and well maintained.
Our taxes are still lower than neighboring towns and close proximity to the city is affordable again. Armonk is the gateway to Northern Westchester without being too far north..and has that country feeling!
